Silicone sheet is made by using the unique physical and chemical properties of silicone. Silicone sheet is a polymer material of polydimethylsiloxane. Silicone molecules are composed of alternating silicon atoms and oxygen atoms. The structure is similar to quartz and has high chemical and physical stability.
Silicone sheet has excellent flexibility. The reason is that after the silicone polymer is formed, there are a large number of cross-chains (elastic chains) between molecules. These cross-chains can inhibit the mutual repulsion and movement between molecules, so that the silicone sheet has relative flexibility.
The high temperature resistance of silicone sheet is also one of its important properties. The bond energy of Si-O bond in silicone molecule is high, which can withstand high temperature. In addition, there are hydrogen bonds and van der Waals forces inside silicone molecules, which strengthen the interaction between silicone molecules and further improve the high temperature resistance.
